Stony Plain Provincial
Volunteer Links

Congratulations Nationals Athletes!

We’re so so sooooo proud of Stony riders Jack Coombs, Easton Araneda, Chase Araneda, Brady Mitschke and Cody Brayson for making the trek to Etobicoke, ON for the Canadian BMX Championships on Saturday.
Congratulations to Brady Mitschke on his N2 and Easton Araneda on his N6!!!
All Championship races (Alberta BMX, and Canadian BMX and World BMX Championships) are age-based races - an age group (not class, so no Novice, Int or Expert) of riders race to the final 8. Those riders are assigned 1-8 (W1-8 = Worlds, N1-8 =Nationals , AB1-8 for Provincials). These plates are big accomplishments.
The Alberta BMX also have their Provincial Cup Series. Riders race class based “Provincial” races at various tracks throughout the season. Their accumulated points throughout the series is ranked and placed in order and plates (1, 2, 3+) are awarded at Grands (this year in Sept 7 in Cochrane).

Extra Volunteer Credits available

Our track is in need of a good weeding!
We will extend volunteer credits to parents for weeding the sides of the track over the next couple of weeks.
Talk to Sue if you would like to pick up some additional hours.
As this job will only be available during Tuesday & Wednesday Training & requires you to be on the track while our athletes are training, please do NOT bring siblings with you to weed.
